I design intuitive digital experiences, shaped by a deep understanding of real users and a background in education.

Spotlight

A private, role-aware microsite for the QMS Board of Governors.

A private WordPress microsite that brings board and committee resources into one role-aware dashboard, with a content model the QMS team can maintain themselves.

  • Role-aware dashboard for Board, Finance, Governance, and Executive surfaces
  • Calendar built into the same shell as governance work
  • Editable by non-technical staff without breaking the layout
  • QMS palette used sparingly, as category accents

Visuals are redacted to protect private governance materials.

All projects

Everything, end to end.

What I do

Design that takes implementation seriously.

UX & product thinking

Problem framing, user journeys, content structure, and the decisions that move a project forward instead of around in circles.

Visual & interaction design

A calm, editorial visual sense. Real focus states, considered motion, and respect for the systems behind a clean UI.

Web implementation

WordPress, design tokens, accessible HTML and CSS, plus the production discipline to keep brand and behaviour aligned across every surface.

Education context

Years inside schools as an educational assistant, and now on the marketing team at QMS. I design for the people who actually use the product.

How I work

Honest about constraints. Specific about decisions.

  1. 01

Name the job of the page

Before any visual decisions, I get specific about what the page or product is for. Everything downstream gets easier once that's settled.

  2. 02

Design with constraints, not against them

WordPress themes, plugin commitments, role boundaries, and stakeholder realities shape the design. Pretending they don't wastes time.

  3. 03

    Build small, defensible patterns

Cards, tags, hierarchy, focus states. Once these are right, future work builds on itself instead of fighting against it.

About

I came to design through education. Both still inform the way I work.

Before this role I worked as an educational assistant, supporting students one-on-one and in small groups, often with learning disabilities. That work shaped how I think about design.

Today I'm a digital marketing specialist and designer at Queen Margaret's School, with an Interactive Media Developer Certificate and ongoing personal work in education-focused product design.
